Hver enkelt person har unike styrker som bedrifter og verden trenger! Styrker = drivere for motivasjon og engasjement! (Last ned norsk oversikt her.) Styrker er helt personlige egenskaper som gir energi og motivasjon, hva vi gjør naturlig og hva vi er gode på. Mange er faktiske lite bevisst på hva vi er naturlig gode på, og mange oss har også sterke meninger om hva vi tror vi ikke er gode på … Gallup har forsket på styrker i over 70 år og kommet frem til at vi alle kan kjennes oss igjen i 34 styrker som vi bruker i forskjellig skala. Clifton Strengths er en online undersøkelse som hjelper deg til å finne ut hva dine naturlige talenter er, gjennom besvarelse av 177 spørsmål. Resultatet av undersøkelsen viser hvor unik du er! Hittil har nesten 23 millioner mennesker tatt testen og sjansen for at du møter et menneske med dine topp 5 styrker, er 1 til 33 millioner ! Most people think they know what they’re good at. They are usually wrong. More often, people know what they’re not good at — and even then more people are wrong than right.” — Peter F. Drucker For å bli bevisst våre styrker, må vi først kjenne våre naturlige talenter – hva vi gjør enkelt og med letthet. Aktiviteter som gir glede og overskudd. Når du begynner å investere i dine naturlige styrker og talenter, vil du oppleve høyere engasjement, glede og motivasjon. Effekten blir enda større, når andre kjenner dine styrker og kan gi deg feedback på dine naturlige styrker. "… you will excel only by maximizing your strengths, never by fixing your weakness …" – Donald Clifton Her er noen eksempler på hvordan en person bruker en styrke: Kelneren som alltid er et steg foran dine behov (skjenker vann i neste tomme glass, kommer med dessertmenyen til akkurat riktig tidspunkt.) Kundebehandler som gir deg topp service i alle ledd. Kollegaen som ser deg og gir deg ekstra støtte på en dag du trenger det aller mest. Venninnen din som tilbyr seg med glede å arrangere bursdagsfesten for deg. Sjefen din som alltid gir deg konkrete tilbakemeldinger på hvordan du leverer resultater. Bussjåføren som gir deg et vennlig smil og hyggelige ord, selv når det rushtid og folkene rundt deg er stresset og irriterte. "Når du bruker styrkene dine, vil du gjerne lære fort, oppleve eierskap til det du holder på med og kjenne glede og entusiasme.” (Dr. Martin Seligman, 2011) Dine unike styrker for deg som person er – å gi vekst på hvem du allerede er – du er unik, – du trenger ikke å bli ”noen” du ikke er.
